"It's all in the egg"

"My observation of the Universe convinces me that there are beings of intelligence and power of a far higher quality than anything we can conceive of as human; that they are not necessarily based on the cerebral and nervous structures that we know, and that the one and only chance for mankind to advance as a whole is for individuals to make contact with such beings." - Aleister Crowley

Okay, here's where things get weird.

First, a few examples of what I'm talking about, before I try talking about it.

Copper Medic

In his book Confrontations, Jacques Vallee devotes a chapter to "Copper Medic," what he describes as his favourite case of UFO visitations. He writes that "what attracted the interest of local unfologists wasn't so much the repeated sighting of a small, egg-shaped UFO on the Chapin's property as the strange material they claimed to have recovered at the site."

It's not the strange material which attracts my interest, but the description of the UFO. In the first incident from 1969 the Chapins, who were then in their mid-60s, had just killed a rattlesnake. Jane Chapin was going to photograph the body "when she suddenly saw something behind the tall grass, among the trees":

She thought it was a trailer, then realized it was oval, about the size of a VW Beetle. It appeared cream-colored to her. Clint, who saw it from a different perspective, thought it was gray. Both saw how the object lifted up, paused for a brief moment, then disappeared at amazing speed. An oval depression, smaller than the object itself, was found in the ground, as if a large weight had rested there.

The Chapins had several more encounters over the years, sometimes losing consciousness, vomiting and urinating, when they would be hit by an "invisible barrier" radiating waves of heat. Their last encounter was in 1980, shortly before Clint's fatal heart attack. Jane wrote Vallee about it:

We were looking at a road that had been cut through our property and we turned to go down the road, west, and there was a skinny thing in the road, and his egg was not 25 feet from us... and he took four steps toward us and my hand fell on my gun and he turned around and walked back. He was in a gray suit, and he left no print or prints of the egg. Clint could not move either... the thing vanished, then the egg went up in the air and turned west, and we both looked at the back of the egg and it opened like a horse trailer door. He was four-foot tall and skinny, maybe 90 pounds. I don't know what he wants... well, maybe he will take me to where Clint is.

One of the local investigators reported, of one appearance, that the object "rose up off the ground a few feet, then took off like a shot up the canyon, swaying but not striking small trees as it went." But Jane Chapin admitted to Vallee she had lied: the object had flown off into the trees, passing through them as though they didn't exist. When he asked why she hadn't told that to the local investigators, she replied, "I could see they wouldn't believe me if I told them the truth. They were such nice people. I didn't want to shock them."

Lonnie Zamora

Zamora's sighting is one of the most famous in UFO literature. On April 24, 1964 Zamora, a police officer in Socorro, New Mexico, investigated a sudden, loud roar from an unpopulated gully. "I could see dust fly up," he recalled. "I thought there was something that night have blown up, since there’s a dynamite shack over there." He drove his patrol car to the top of a hill to check it out. About a half mile away, he saw a white object that appeared from the distance to be a car turned upside down, and two figures who looked to be four feet tall. Zamora radioed he was going to investigate, and drove a bumpy road on which he temporarily lost sight of the object. He stopped on a Mesa, got out and and looked down.

In the gully about 20 feet below him, the “thing” sat silent. The two figures had disappeared. Zamora advanced closer.

"It was egg-shaped with one end, which I figure was the front, sort of tapered," Zamora says. "It was white and smooth, with no windows or openings of any kind. It was sitting on legs about four feet tall and seemed to be about the size of a car."

A sudden roar from the "egg" almost deafened Zamora. Thinking it might explode, the officer turned and ran for some bushes. Glancing back, he saw the object rise straight up. He dove into the bushes and covered his head, then peeked up.

"There was no noise," he says. "It was about 20 feet off the ground, just hovering. There were markings in red letters about a foot high on the side. It looked like a crescent with a vertical arrow pointed upward inside the crescent and a horizontal bar beneath that."

When State Policeman Sam Chavez arrived on the scene, he and Zamora entered the gully, and found a smouldering mesquite bush and six imprints in the ground where the "egg" had resisted. Zamora's character was judged unimpeachable, and there was no credible accusation of a hoax. He also made no claims for what he had seen. Three years later he told a reporter, “I’d like to know what the hell it was. I wouldn’t say it was from space or from here either. If it’s a new plane. It sure is good. All I know is I saw the thing and that’s it.”

Levelland and White Sands

On the night of November 2, 1957 near Levelland, Texas, independent witnesses repeatedly saw oval and elliptical objects near roadways. One witness was "Sheriff Weir Clem, who was searching the roads as a result of earlier reports and saw a reddish oval cross the road, illuminating the pavement." Within a few hours of the Levelland reports, "an Army jeep patrol at White Sands, N.M., reported an egg-shaped UFO that descended to a point about 50 yards above the bunker used during the first atomic bomb explosion, and a major wave of UFO sightings continued for 2-3 weeks."

The Worcester Egg

Early morning February 3, 2000, Georgina Wells saw an "extremely bright," yellow-glowing egg shape from her bedroom window. It began a slow descent, seemed to land out of sight, and then "came back into view and was really bright again and shot off into the sky and vanished. I have never seen anything go that fast before." Perhaps the most exceptional aspect of this report is that Wells claims a helicopter was monitoring it the entire time. "I stood up and watched it," Wells says. "It was not a police helicopter with its spotlight as there was no light-beam."

So what's with all the eggs?

There are many more examples. (And not just of the exterior appearance of UFOs. Abductees often describe rounded, milky interiors.) Still, I don't want to get carried away with this. Some UFOs, after all, have also been called "cigar-shaped." If Freud had been a ufologist, I expect he would have said that sometimes a cigar-shaped UFO is just a cigar-shaped UFO. But in the popular imagination, UFOs are principally "disc-shaped." And to speak of discs evokes manufacture, as though they were cobbled together with nuts and bolts, even if those nuts and bolts are cast from exoterran metals. So analogies are important in themselves, because they can restrict or liberate our assumptions of the true - as opposed to the black budget - phenomena.

What's more, regarding UFOs as egg-like also may render less myserious some of their observed, bizarre attributes. For instance, on numerous occasions, UFOs have been seen dividing into several equal-sized and identical parts, and recombining into a single unity. It beggers our understanding how a manufactured craft could be engineered to accomplish such feats, and perhaps just as significantly, what would be the purpose. However, we do see something like it in the natural world, in something as commonplace as cell division. But we may not think to look there if we get hamstrung by the paradigm that UFOs, if they exist at all, must be spacecraft. We'll be more likely to see correspondences in nature if we adopt the analogy of an egg, rather than a "disc."

And there may be something more, still.

Back to Crowley

Remember Lam, and Aleister Crowley's "Amalantrah Working"? Using sex magick with his partner and psychic sensitive Roddie Minor, Crowley claimed to have opened a dimensional portal, through which passed Lam, whose portrait appears an archetypal grey, though Crowley drew him "from life" in 1918, many years before the greys entered our cultural consciousness. Before Lam appeared, Minor channelled messages from a spirit-wizard called Amalantrah, who told Crowley to "find the egg." Ian Blake, who has much of interest to say about Crowley, Lam, and the egg metaphor here, writes that "one of the earlier versions of the Amalantrah Working ended with the sentence, 'It's all in the egg.' During the final surviving version of this Working, in reference to a question about the egg, Crowley was told: 'Thou art to go this way.'"

Kenneth Grant, Crowley's last student, who was given the portrait, is author of "The Lam Statement." Grant's purpose was to "regularize and to examine results" of contact with Lam, by "entering the Egg of Spirit represented by the Head." As Blake writes, "in the late 1980s ... Grant allegedly received 'strong intimations' to the effect that Crowley's portrait of Lam 'is the present focus of an extraterrestrial - and perhaps trans-plutonic - energy which the OTO is required to communicate at this critical period.'"

The Typhonian OTO, which follows Grant's teachings, "is concerned with effective transmissions and communications from 'outerspace' for the purpose of opening Gateways. The Typhonian 'deities' denote specific operations of psycho-physical alchemy which involve essences or elixirs secreted (thrown out and/or considered unclean) by the human organism."

And we should note that the purpose of Jack Parsons' "Babalon Working" was a birth, Using Enochian sex magick and his "elemental" partner Marjorie Cameron, Parsons was intent on collapsing our reality by introducing into it the incarnation of "Babalon." ("Wicked" in the angelic language said to be given Elizabethan John Dee.)

In a letter to Crowley, quoted in Sex and Rockets: The Occult World of Jack Parsons, he wrote "For the last three days I have performed an operation of birth, using the air tablet, the cup, and a female figure, properly invoked by the wand [penis], then sealed up in the altar. Last night I performed an operation of symbolic birth and delivery."

And from his poem, "The Birth of Babalon":

What is the tumult among the stars that have shone so still till now?
What are the furrows of pain and wrath upon the immortal brow?
Why is the face of God turned grey and his angels all grown white?
What is the terrible ruby star that burns down the crimson night?
What is the beauty that flames so bright athwart the awful dawn?
She has taken flesh, she is come to judge the thrones ye rule upon.
Quail ye kings for an end is come in the birth of BABALON.

Is it any more bizarre than the thought of extraterrestial spacecraft, to consider that Crowley and Parsons may have succeeded, the portal widened, and the ritual birth represented by egg-like manifestations? Well, yes, because it presumes the efficacy of magick, which is a big leap for most of us. But perhaps, even though it's more bizarre, it's also more likely.

One final thought. Lonnie Zamora repoted seeing "markings in red letters about a foot high on the side. It looked like a crescent with a vertical arrow pointed upward inside the crescent and a horizontal bar beneath that." To those who regard UFOs as nuts and bolts spacecraft, perhaps these markings would be regarded as the designation of an extraterrestrial authority. Their "flag." But it's quite anthropomorphic to presume aliens would think in such terms.

But if we consider ritual magick, the symbol resembles a "sigil," used for the invocation of angelic and demonic entities. I haven't searched yet for a crescent with a vertical arrow within it and a horizontal bar beneath it. But I wonder what the implications would be if one were found.

In the Zamora case, I found some information for you that may be helpful. They say a picture is worth a thousand words and this site has the drawing of the crescent shaped symbol seen on the egg.

Discussion of the world of hyperdimensional reality is tabou because it leads to a true understanding of what is going on in this world of ours, including the ultimate secret: that we are not at the top of the food chain. Whereas Crowley thought it was a good idea to make friends with our keepers, I think it is about as safe as a chicken making friends with the farmer.

Mathematicians speculate that there are a number of other dimensions in which our 4 dimensional space-time is embedded. Few of them are willing to consider that these dimensions may have a reality that is wholly other than mathematical. Curiously, Einstein was willing to consider this possibility. In a paper published in 1938, he wrote:

'If Kaluza’s attempt is a real step forward, then it is because of the introduction of the five dimensional space. There have been many attempts to retain the essential formal results obtained by Kaluza without sacrificing the fourdimensional character of the physical space. This shows distinctly how vividly our physical intuition resists the introduction of the fifth dimension. But by considering and comparing all these attempts one must come to the conclusion that all these endeavors did not improve the situation. It seems impossible to formulate Kaluza’s idea in a simple way without introducing the fifth dimension.

'We have, therefore, to take the fifth dimension seriously although we are not encouraged to do so by plain experience. If, therefore, the space structure seems to force acceptance of the five dimensional space theory upon us we must ask whether it is sensible to assume the rigorous reducibility to four dimensional space. We believe that the answer should be “no,” provided that it is possible to understand, in another way, the quasi-four dimensional character of the physical space by taking as a basis the five dimensional continuum and to simplify hereby the basic geometrical assumptions.[…] The most essential point of our theory is the replacing of …rigorous cylindricity by the assumption that space is closed (or periodic).[…] Kaluza’s five dimensional theory of the physical space provides a unitary representation of gravitation and electromagnetism. […] It is much more satisfactory to introduce the fifth dimension not only formally, but to assign to it some physical meaning.' [Einstein, A, Bergmann, P., "On a Generalization of Kaluza’s Theory of Electricity", Annals of Mathematics, Vol. 38, No. 3, July 1938.]

If said fifth dimension must be taken seriously, might we not speculate that it is the realm of the Gods? The home of UFOs and other beings that have appeared throughout human history and that have the power to manipulate space-time? The powers ascribed to the gods match those such "fifth dimensional beings" would have: time travel, the ability to walk through walls and appear and disappear at will.

The portals so dear to Crowley may well have been ways of conjuring up these beings. Unfortunately, a study of history and the various manipulations of religion make it clear that these beings do not have our best interests at heart. We are a food source for them. They feed off of our negative emotions when they are not sending down the greys to collect more choice samples.

Of course, as long as physicists treat other dimensions as nothing more than mathematical curiousities, the true nature of our situation will remain hidden. The following story from Gurdjieff, as recounted by Ouspensky, puts it rather plainly:

"There is an Eastern tale which speaks about a very rich magician who had a great many sheep. But at the same time this magician was very mean. He did not want to hire shepherds, nor did he want to erect a fence about the pasture where his sheep were grazing. The sheep consequently often wandered into the forest, fell into ravines, and so on, and above all they ran away, for they knew that the magician wanted their flesh and skins and this they did not like.

"At last the magician found a remedy. He hypnotized his sheep and suggested to them first of all that they were immortal and that no harm was being done to them when they were skinned, that, on the contrary, it would be very good for them and even pleasant; secondly he suggested that the magician was a good master who loved his flock so much that he was ready to do anything in the world for them; and in the third place he suggested to them that if anything at all were going to happen to them it was not going to happen just then, at any rate not that day, and therefore they had no need to think about it. Further the magician suggested to his sheep that they were not sheep at all; to some of them he suggested that they were lions, to others that they were eagles, to others that they were men, and to others that they were magicians.

"And after this all his cares and worries about the sheep came to an end. They never ran away again but quietly awaited the time when the magician would require their flesh and skins.

"This tale is a very good illustration of man's position."

Acknowledging that we are not the top of the food chain is more of a leap than most people are able or willing to make. Yet isn't it our own self-importance as a species that is the limiting factor in coming to a greater understanding? Given the vastness of the universe we know, isn't it presumptuous to think that mind or conscience has no higher forms than our own? And higher does not necessarily mean a higher morality. It is well-known that there exists a left-hand path where the adept seeks to accrue power to the self. Why should we believe that all the "gods" are good?

i thought it was noteworthy that the one story began with the people killing a rattlesnake... and then this egg rises out of the woods behind it. this reminds me of the "orphic egg" symbol, which is a snake wrapped around an egg - closely tied to ancient european mystery religions.

through the link above, they also say that a being called phanes-dionysus was "birthed" from the egg. a hymn describes him thus:

"ineffable, hidden, brilliant scion, whose motion is whirring, you scattered the dark mist that lay before your eyes and, flapping your wings, you whirled about, and through this world you brought pure light."

Interesting you mention that. Vallee's telling of the second incident begins like this: "The Chapins were driving up the road carrying a dead parakeet to a spot where they bury animals...."

"What about Ong's Hat?"

And interesting you mention that.

I'd been intending to raise that, but I was running out of time and wanted to get it posted. Maybe it's best that I didn't. Ong's Hat is very new to me, and I wouldn't want to post out of ignorance.

I should probably talk about Montauk at some point, too. Though I'm inclined to call the Montauk mythos a disinfo reconstruction of the truth. The little I've read of Ong's Hat places it for me somewhere between Montauk and Being John Malkovitch. But like I said, it's new to me, and my impression is liable to change.

Rigged markets as far as the eye can see - sure.

Shadowy, ruthless government-corporate alliance bent on ruling the world - sure.

Intelligence agencies running drugs and guns - sure.

Coups, rigged elections, assassinations, death squads, false flag terror attacks - sure.

Widespread ritual pedophilia by the rich and powerful - er, well, maybe.

Flying space eggs from a hyperdimensional portal - gimme a freakin break! Were they piloted by shape-shifting lizard men with crystal skulls, perchance?

Of course, anyone can talk about anything they want to, and sometimes it's fun to discuss far-out ideas. This just strikes me as the sort of thing that makes it easy to paint conspiracy theorists as loopy fruitcakes who'll believe any old crazy story, the more fanciful, the better.

Jeremy, thanks, that's a brilliant post at Fantasic Planet. Everyone interested in this topic should read it.

I think this is a very sound conclusion:

"This line of reasoning has led me to the following conclusion: in a good number of recorded cases of UFO contacts, the occupants tell the contactees that they come from this or that planet or star. In terms of occultism, there’s no reason to take this information *literally*– the occupants of the UFOs may be trying to communicate with the contactees in the language of occult symbolism, which has been used in encounters between humans and “spirits” for centuries."

The "Starchild" (no, not Paul Stanley from KISS) in 2001: A Space Odyssey is very much like a fetus inside an egg. And yes, I know that's a mixed mammalian metaphor.

Speaking of which, the late and lovable crank William Cooper used to rant about how the Illuminati intend to blow up the planet Jupiter with a plutonium-filled probe, igniting the gas giant, and create a new star named Lucifer. He also claimed that this conspiracy was broadly hinted at in the 2001 and 2010 movies.

Which makes this all the more interesting.

Here's an article from a few months ago about a fortean interpretation of chemtrails:
http://tinyurl.com/6ewvc

Basically there are just too many of them for it to be a human government operation, and also the planes make no sound, go too fast, and have never been seen to take off or land. This is just as unexplainable as UFO's and much more visible, and seemingly the whole thing is "magick" or "extradimensional."

Last night I performed an operation of symbolic birth and delivery."

This was the purpose of the ritual & Crowley’s reaction(see Crowley’s novel .MoonChild:

The rituals (whose objective was to produce a magical child, "mightier than all the kings of the earth") continued for two days. Parsons was confident of their effectiveness, and wrote an exultant letter to Crowley, whose response was not what would have been wished. Parsons was upset by his mentor's lack of comprehension. Crowley immediately wrote a letter to Karl Germer (who was the head of the O.T.O. in the U.S. at that time) stating that "Apparently Parsons...or somebody is producing a Moonchild. I get fairly frantic when I contemplate the idiocy of these louts." (16)

Needless to say, Crowley felt that the Bible had misconstrued the meaning of the Beast and the Whore of Babylon, necessary elements of the succession to the Aeon of Horus, the Aeon of the Crowned and Conquering Child.

Crowley synopsized human development thusly:

"Within the memory of man we have had the Pagan period, the worship of Nature, of Isis, of the Mother, of the Past; the Christian period, the worship of Man, of Osiris, of the Present. The first period is simple, quiet, easy, and pleasant; the material ignores the spiritual; the second is of suffering and death: the spiritual strives to ignore the material....The new Aeon is the worship of the spiritual made one with the material, of Horus, of the Child, of the Future." (7)

Parsons:

"[The individual] must go down like Moses, into his unknown self ...into the labyrinths of the dark land. There he will meet the Mother and hear her final question, which is not a silly riddle but the most wonderful and terrible of all questions: 'what is man?'
"And thereafter ...he may find the Graal, ultimate consciousness ...For it is he, wonderful monster, embryo god, that has swum in the fish....peered from the eyes of serpents, swung with the ape, and shaken the earth with the tramp of the tyrannosaurus hoof. It is he who has cried out on all crosses, ruled on all thrones, grubbed in all gutters. It is he whose face is reflected and distorted in all heavens and hells, he, the child of the stars, the son of the ocean, this creature of dust, this wonder and terror called man." (10)

Parsons on the goddess Babylon:

"She will come girt with the sword of freedom, and before her kings and priests will tremble and cities and empires will fall, and she will be called BABALON, the scarlet woman....And women will respond to her war cry, and throw off their shackles and chains, and men will respond to her challenge, forsaking the foolish ways and the little ways, and she will shine as the ruddy evening star in the bloody sunset of Gotterdamerung, will shine as a morning star when the night has passed, and a new dawn breaks over the garden of Pan" (12)

Complex individuals. Brilliant. Eccentric.Tragic.

Hi, just got back from Jupiter, courtesy of the previous link.

I have a thought that is bugging me: In response to the plot of "2010" and the Galileo mission (nuclear detonation on Jupiter), I had a very negative reaction to the idea of an Earth without Darkness.

Why do we need a second sun?

There would be no night, no stars, no Milky Way, no Northern Lights, no romance.

Am I being shortsighted or am I intuitively right that a second sun (named Lucifer!?) is not a good idea at all? What possible benefit could there be from this idea? I can't find one.

This is one hypothesis & certainly receives a great of corroboration in the literature ( e.g., Sitchen). However , that is just a single dimensionality. It’s
not necessarily as one sided as that. If ,in fact, there are those demonic energies
there must also be so-called benevolent constellations.

Of course, as long as physicists treat other dimensions as nothing more than mathematical curiousities, the true nature of our situation will remain hidden.

Great point. However, physicists aren’t the ulimate definers of the nature of reality. Just a particular point of view.

Yeah. One of the limiting factors. A paucity of imagination could be another. The constraints of both religious institutions & the conceptual shackles of higher education others.

Yup.

The late Mario Pazzaglini put together a book called Symbolic Messages that might be useful for discussions on alien writing systems. However, it is quite rare, and I have never come across a copy.

Greg Bishop describes the work as being "one of those rare documents that defines a completely original phenomenon. Specifically, the text discusses 'received scripts' -- any form of written communication that the human percipient alleges to have originated with a non-human source. Methods of reception range from channeled writings, to symbols that were seen on or in extraterrestrial craft, to simple, inexplicable desires to communicate something that seem to come from outside of the receiver's frame of reference. 'I just have to do it. It's not by my own choice' is a typical phrase."

You can read excerpts of an interview with Pazzaglini at Bishop's site:

I'm not sure whether the PDF download at The Anomalist is the same Pazzaglini interview, or a different one.

I've done some preliminary exploration of some ways alien visual communication might be expressed, as seen from a typography and book arts perspective:
http://www.virtuallystrange.net/ufo/updates/2002/oct/m02-028.shtml

John Velez has recently pointed out a rather disturbing resonance with some alien symbols that a screen capture of an unknown aerial formation in 1998 reveals. Much credibility for claims made online rests on the nature of a poster's consistant "voice" over the years. Velez is someone whose postings I've been reading for several years, and I tend to take him seriously.

Then perhaps you would be more comfortable with a discussion group that limits it's imagination to three dimensions. Some are beyond worrying that small frightened minds might spew forth the dreaded epithet "tin foil hat" that absolves them from contemplating possible realities beyond their limited mental safety zone.

I couldn't care less what trolls on DU, FR or cable propaganda networks would think of this thread. But, rather, I find the intellectual level here quite stimulating.

[The most essential point of our theory is the replacing of …rigorous cylindricity by the assumption that space is closed (or periodic).[…] Kaluza’s five dimensional theory of the physical space provides a unitary representation of gravitation and electromagnetism.

If said fifth dimension must be taken seriously, might we not speculate that it is the realm of the Gods?]

Ok, who in the serious scientific community has followed up on Einstein's assertion that it should "have some physical meaning assigned to it" (to paraphrase)

Anyone?

Frankly, I've never seen proof of any sort of God, hence no Fifth Dimension (though I'd love to be wrong!).

*But*

I'm a firm believer there are VAST numbers of other life filled worlds, just waiting for us to find, or them to find us.

Which leads to: But they are so far away, it would take countless lifetimes to travel to these remote (from us) other worlds.

Unless, you use one of Einstein's "portals", better known as Worm Holes.

Look for the "egg"?

I'd be inclined, if I truly believed the veracity of a witness to this type of event, to look for the Portal.

Worm holes ARE reality, Jeff.

But keep writing, I enjoy the stimulation.

Lastly, Crowley at one point sounded like he was saying the "Magick", or "Lucifer", was IN YOU.

Not at all unlike the Gospel Of Thomas' collection of Jesus (supposedly, sheesh) sayings.

By the way, did anyone see the cover of Newsweek? They actually present Jesus as if he was a historical fact, not a Faith.

Discovery channel has similar eerie propaganda programming along those lines.

Creepy times.

One more thing,

To me, at least, it is perspective.

What did these witnesses see, starting in this 1948+ timeframe?

Never seen before Technology.

And, who had this?

At the end of the Third Reich, they actually had a Jet and a Rocket plane, that if it had been brought online 5 years earlier, well, if Hitler wasn't an asinine neocon that thought, like Rummy, he could be a General, and over extended his forces..

But, we DID bring over the Rocket scientists, yes?

And the OSS did sneek over the former Nazi Intelligence officers, yes? That's fact.

"I never saw anything move that fast before" I believe she ( a witness) stated.

I truly believe she hadn't, until she observed a High Tech, black ops craft.

Unless we should find it more likely Hitler channeled Lucifer.

Hey, wait a minute....

I'm not surely which part your "that" is referring to. Eleanor White does post on the UFO UPDATES website where Velez occasionally posts (he's gotten real tired of having to fend off stupid questions or assumptions).
I don't know about the responses he's gotten on the glyph so far. I think he doesn't go into it that much in public, as he doesn't want to give information that might lead someone's response in one particular way.

Oh yeah, Aleister Crowley, Dean Of Ufology...

Am I the only person who's ever considered the notion that Crowley was simply making it all up?

Yeah, all of it..."LAM", the drawing of the supposed "extradimensional presence"- even that visit from "Aiwaz" and the "Book Of The Law" revelations.

In that case- hold on to your seats, kids- Crowley's "Aeon Of Horus" is nothing more than a hoax.

Like many a religious hoax before, and since...

really, what makes Crowley such a believable sourse?

I've said enough for now. I'll allow the audience some time to ponder this matter. Perhaps one of those "non-dogmatic Crowleyans" out there may even be reading, and rise to defend him and his "revelations" against my Blasphemy.

Nope.Crowley had a vivid imagination; used channelers for his revelatory works,The Book of the Law, etc.; & was a dope fiend (tincture of opium, heroin, peyote, nitrous oxide, etc.). He wouldn't exactly pass the test as a reliable eyewitness. On the other hand, charlatan was simply one of his personas; (http://www.facade.com/tarot/description/?Deck=rider_waite&Card=1).
Ceremonial magic attracts all kinds from Magregor Mather to Yeats to Ogman Austin Spare to Jack Parsons ( & throw in Hilter as boilermaker).

Perhaps one of those "non-dogmatic Crowleyans" out there may even be reading, and rise to defend him and his "revelations" against my Blasphemy.

Crowley certainly needs no defenders. Opinions (formed or un) hardly constitute Blasphemy.

I can empathize with those who think I'm wandering off with the Crowley stuff, and perhaps literally chasing ghosts. But what first drew me to the subject in this context was the witness of mind control survivors, who speak of his influence upon those who subjected them to ritual torture.

If Satanic Ritual Abuse exists, with organizational structure, covert protection and hidden intent, then I would say there is a religious philosphy supporting it. And from my study it would appear to be Crowleyan, though arguably a corruption thereof.

I also find that an occult philosophy - something like a secret state religion - would likely be the result of a longstanding cover-up of UFO phenomena.

Crowley posited a religious revelation. It makes up a substantial portion of his writings, and its the insurance of its "fulfillment" purports to be the "The Great Work" of his lifetime.

To judge from the voluminous witings of his acolytes, on-line and elsewhere, one has to accept the veracity of his visions in order to take him seriously as a philosopher, a futurist, or prophet of a new age. Prima facie.

I haven't encountered any writing by a Crowleyan who casts doubt on the veracity of Crowley's reported visions, or of the efficacy of his "magickal workings", such as they are. ( The most powerful of those are purportedly the result of Crowley acting as the receptive partner of acts of anal intercourse, no? )

Perhaps the "blasphemy" part of my earlier comment amounts to baiting. But my skepticism remains concerning Crowley's value as a New Age prophet- or even as a trustworthy observer/reporter of extraordinary phemomena.

If Crowley's witness needs no defenders, perhaps it's because he's so easily dismissed.

It's the ex-Crowleyans who'd be more likely to do that. ;)

Look, we don't want to be dragging Crowley into modern politics and current events any more than the most skeptical of you wants it. But he manages to have himself connected to more things than Kevin Bacon, and wishing him away wouldn't do diddly-squat.

Some of us have gotten whomped on the head far too often with the patterns that keep turning up. We tend to take it for granted by now, although there can still be things that make us roll our eyes and mutter "Here we go again..."

Messianism & drug addiction are handmaidens conjoined ( e.g., Hilter, Kennedy, Leary). The distinction between revealed religion & religion is perhaps only the difference between L.Ron Hubbard & Pat Robertson ( or Jimmy Swaggart)Crowley recognized the difference, no doubt, & readily admitted in his more lucid moments his failure. His Great Work was a flop; very, very few followers, adherents.
Crowley can most accurately be understood within his milieu as a reactionary to Victorian mores, his deacon father, & some class envy. His magical work the vehicle.
Magic/magical ceremony, mysticism,& metaphysics are fraternal but not necessarily interchangeable. The apotheosis is exhibited in Taoism/QiQong.

. ( The most powerful of those are purportedly the result of Crowley acting as the receptive partner of acts of anal intercourse, no? )

hilarious; Crowley sought to shock, above all. He generally succeeded within that domain.

But my skepticism remains concerning Crowley's value as a New Age prophet- or even as a trustworthy observer/reporter of extraordinary phemomena.

Crowley has about as much currency as the prophet of a New Age as one might find in the latest edition of a Superman comic. In fact, the comic may have more.

Assumptions. Hierarchial dimensions; perhaps the counter is outside one's field of apprehension/perception.

I got into Crowley years ago, but I guess anyone thats really into magic as a tool of liberation knows that stuff is out of date.

Like everything else in the way of so called "revelation". Once its past the time and place and culture that it was created for it is pretty useless.

Move on and get over it..

I guess thats why it only takes a generation for any popular teaching with any power to become corrupted by the forces of unpleasant repression. And completely useless. aybe not completely...

Crowley's Egg, Ibogaine, The Dogon & Black UFO's

In December 2001 myself and my friend Shuffle (who together run the utopiated.net website, cheap plug!) were 'experimenting' with the entheogen ibogaine (derived from the
West African plant iboga), a compound of high voodou weirdness -
anyway,to cut a long story short, after around 12 hours of tripping, shuffle emerges out of the tripping room with the words 'the egg is the answer' (which at that time was a rather oblique response to 'how is it?')

I didnt pay much attention to the words as I had a methadone script to pick up at the time, so on seeing he was vaguely ok, I left him and walked into town. The first thing I noticed was a giant 'egg' billboard that had been just put up (the egg is the name of a bank account here in england) and i remember thinking, mmm...cute but low level synchronicity...and carried on walking to the chemist. I got to the chemist and for the first time in a year I had to wait to pick up my script, so i went to the library to hang out. I was browsing through the shelves when i noticed they had John Symonds 'The King of the Shadow Realm' (great Crowley bio), picked it out, literally opened a page at random and the first words i read were "it's all in the egg"!

and then i got that feeling one gets whenever the synchronicities start to superlaminate themselves as they start to stack up

....spooky huh? ... discussing it later and with my own ibogaine experiences behind me and the myriad of weird synchronicities that seem to erupt whenever you ingest the more darker NMDA receptor entheogens (Salvia,Ketamine)...our current provisional reality tunnel suggests that the 'darker' psychedelics open up access to the same superluminal realms as thelemic magick and the 'alien abduction' space, hence one would have access to similar materials, motifs and archetypes, ie 'the egg'

A further, more oblique reference to ibogaine and the notion of the cosmic egg can be found in the fact that the West African Dogon Tribe base their cosmology on the notion of the 'cosmic egg' and Iboga (the plant from which Ibogaine is derived)is indigenous to the same area:West Africa and is used by the Bwiti and Fang tribal groups in the Gabon and surrounding areas.

Now given that the Dogon say their cosmology was taught to them by the Nommo from Sirius B and given that one can reverse Robert Temple's notion that it was the Egyptians that gave the Dogon their knowledge of Sirius B & C, then one can trace a theoretical line of knowledge that links the cosmological 'egg' motif

Nommo(Sirians) - Dogon - Egyptians - Crowley

Interestingly, in Deleuze & Guattari's 'A Thousand Plateaus', in the sixth chapter entitled 'November 28th 1947:How Do You Make Yourself A Body without Organs' there is a image of the Dogon Egg under the title 'The Dogon Egg & the Distribution of Intensities'. Here is an excerpt:

"The BwO is the egg. But the egg is not regressive; on the contrary, it is perfectly contemporary, you always carry it with you as your own milieu of experimentation, your associated milieu. Theegg is the milieu of pure intensity, spatium not extension. Zero intensity as principle of production. There is a fundamental convergence between science and myth, embryology and mythology, thebiological egg and the psychic or cosmic egg: the egg always designates this intensive reality, which is not undifferentiated, but is where things and organs are distinguished solely bygradients, migrations, zones of proximity."

Finally, on this topic, there is of course the scene at the end of 2001 where we see the starchild encased in a 'blue egg'.....

As for 'circular' and 'elliptical' shaped ufo's,I have my own brief story of a ufo sighting that happened this year. Myself and two friends were in a garden in Nottingham,England July 2006 around 6:30pm and we watched with incredulity as a black circular object crossed our field of vision and continued to follow a completely straight horizontal line of flight until it was over the horizon.

It was my first ever clear UFO sighting and I am so glad that I was with two other people when i saw it. Two points that I noted: there is a cognitive dissonance when seeing an an unidentified object, for the first 20 seconds all three of us were commenting on what a 'weird balloon that is' until the internal representation of what a balloon is/the way it behaves no longer 'fitted' what we were seeing (there was no 'bobbing' which is what you would expect with a air filled object, it never deviated from its trajectory).
The second point is, despite having 3 camera phones, not one of us ever had the thought of taking a picture, its almost like the event takes place in a sidereal space.

Anyway, just thought i would throw this into the mix!

jackamo www.utopiated.net

btw - the word i have to type into the field to verify this post is 'mabgkk' lol
