"Watch, Ride and Report"

Courtesy of KOS, a sign of Soviet Realism-creep, appearing on Baltimore-DC commuter trains. Though of course, in Soviet art, the heroic snitches would likely be facing left. Not so here.

Was this an inside joke of the design firm? An instance of, They'll never pick this one in a million years, but let's do it for a laugh? If not, it's still a joke, just at America's expense. Which could also neatly describe its recent history.

By the way, I was interviewed yesterday by Vyzygoth for his show "From the Grassy Knoll." It streams here at 5 pm EST should you want to hear me say "um, ah...y'know" for an hour.

Similar adverts have appeared on London transport regarding CCTV surveillance.

They use the same mock 40's/50's artwork, but very blatantly use the eye (of horus) hovering over pictures of buses showing how 'safe' its travellers are ...

Seems the NWO use the same ad company ...

Here it is.

You think this is subconscious, some of it?
Any ad outfits' artists would know something of art history. The idea that it was an inside joke has legs, but then again there are fascist artists.

But what of the first TIA logo? The flag behind W and other instances?

Personally I think that some of these are unconscious expressions, and I see 'fascist art' in everything from grilles on autos to recent architecture, particularly banks, and from Roman art to, well, the current USa.

Eyes in the Sky, huh?

Looks like somebody's been reading too much Phil Dick.

See this page for any number of vintage examples.

Jeff, I'll bet my bottom dollar that the London poster (http://www.newwartimes.com/cctv.jpg) is a joke, and more than a little too over-the-top to be convincing. "Mayor of London" is the giveaway (if one were needed) - and the link to the London Transport website comes up with nothing.

The Baltimore poster might just be genuine. Can anyone from Baltimore confirm it?

Apparently it is real, the London one, I have few doubts about the Maryland one.

Here's a further example of the poster's authenticity from a column in the London-based online publication "spiked".

Excerpt:
"If all of this doesn't make you paranoid, the final nail in the coffin is the Ken Livingstone-endorsed 'Feel secure beneath the watchful eyes' poster and leaflet campaign, which depicts a London bus cruising beneath a sky of eyes with Underground symbols as pupils. The leaflet explains that security initiatives on buses, including reduced delays and CCTV, ensure that 'your bus journey will be a more pleasant and hassle-free experience'."

I've seen the poster in London, it's for real. I think it's meant to be "ironic" though, which I'm sure is the intention behind the Maryland poster too. The ad people are probably having a little bit of fun with us "conspiracy theorists".

I especially like how it's the white man in front, then a white woman, and then, marginalized in the back, a sexless darkie.

I actually love this style of art, too, which is a good thing because I imagine we'll be treated to a lot more in coming years.

Well Al, guess you would have lost your bottom dollar. Not knocking you, I was ready to bet the same thing. You know things are getting weird when it is so weird you are absolutely convinced it must be a joke... and then it isn't.
I noticed other denialist comments here too. Why are those of us who follow, at least nominally, what is happening still so denialistic?
I am beginning to be irked when I try to explain some detail to someone about how serious things are getting, and they just get this "don't bother me fool" attitude. You tell them something very serious, and they think because it is serious it must not really be so and therefore just tune out and turn off. Some day (soon) they will be wondering, "Why the hell didn't I see this coming?"

Here in Miami we've had some creepy "TransitWatch" posters on the buses for a while.

Apparently TransitWatch is a wider government initiative, you can download the whole brochure/poster kit from here:
http://transit-safety.volpe.dot.gov/Security/TransitWatch/Default.asp

My fingers have just been aching to slap a little Ministry of Information sticker on the corner of one: "Suspicion Breeds Confidence" or perhaps "Don't Suspect a Friend, Report Him" (slogans on posters in Terry Gilliam's brilliant and funny movie Brazil, which movie's dystopian permanent-war-against terrorists, lack of civil liberties backdrop is more applicable then ever).
